What to do when I miss a dose?

The Ovral birth control pill is to be taken every day at the same time of day. In the morning when you wake up is an ideal time but any time is acceptable as long as you remain consistent.

Missing a dose within a twelve hour period can be made up by taking it immediately then continuing with the dosage at your regular time. You are still protected by unwanted pregnancy as long as you do this.

If you miss taking the birth control pill for more thn twelve hours then you have to tak two the next day. Take one pill from the previous day and your pill for the day. After that, continue taking them at your regular time. You have to use a back-up birth control method for the next seven days.

There is absolutely no problem if you miss one of the Ovral inactive pills; they are simply for helping you not to forget about daily administration, without containing any hormonal concentration.

Ovral Hormones and Levels

Ovral is combination monophasic birth control pill. Monophasic oral contraceptives deliver the same levels of hormones for all 21 pills. The other 7 pills have no hormones and are there to maintain the habit of taking them every day.
